Lamborghini Unveils 1,001-Horsepower Revuelto Plug-In Hybrid
Lamborghini has been teasing the new flagship for a while now, initially showing off the hybrid powertrain that would run its new beast. Now, the covers have come off the new car, which Lamborghini calls the Revuelto. Marking the 60th anniversary for Lamborghini, the Revuelto has the company’s first hybrid powertrain: A combination of an 812 horsepower, 6.5-liter V12 and electric torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive make a combined 1,001 horsepower and push the Revuelto to a terminal velocity of 217 MPH and a 0-60 time of 2.5 seconds.

This new hybrid plug-in reaches a new paradigm in terms of performance, sportiness and driving pleasure from its unprecedented new architecture; innovative design; maximum-efficiency aerodynamics; and a new carbon frame concept. The V12 and dual front electric motors are backed by an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission which contains the third electric motor that also doubles as a starter motor, with the motor-transmission hybrid helping to offset the weight of the 3.8 kWh lithium-ion battery mounted in the central tunnel. Plenty of new tech is on hand to manage the power output, with 13 drive modes, electronic suspension controls, and magnetic dampers.

There’s no price yet. It’s likely to be at least $500,000, the space occupied by the departing Aventador in Ultimae trim, but other estimates go higher.
