Jean-Michel Basquiat Painting Goes Up For Auction
A Jean-Michel Basquiat painting titled “Now’s The Time” is set to hit the auction block. It features an image of a large vinyl press and is Basquiat’s interpretation of Charlie Parker’s 1945 composition “Now’s the Time”. Created on roughly hewn plywood, the artwork has been in the possession of its current owner since March 1996 and will be sold as part of Sotheby’s Contemporary Evening Auction this May.
